School Policy

Attendance

  • Students should arrive within 10 minutes of their class time.

  • Students are expected to attend all classes they are enrolled in.

  • Every class will begin with a warm-up. Dancers who miss the warm-up could risk injury. Therefore, dancers more than 10 minutes late may be asked to watch the class and take notes to avoid injury.

  • There will be no reductions or deductions for missed classes. If a class is missed, the dancer may make it up in a class equal to or lower than the level he/she is currently enrolled in.

  • Due to the recital, makeup classes are not permitted in May or June.

Attire

  • All students are required to wear proper attire. This includes, but not limited to, tights, leotards and appropriate footwear.

  • Click here to see Dress Code for all classes.

  • Please label all your shoes and dance equipment. All lost items will be placed in the Lost & Found.

Discipline

  • When a student is disrupting class and has not responded to previous warnings, the student will be asked to sit out of class for a period of time determined by the teacher.

  • The student may be asked to leave class for that day.

  • Should a student be asked to sit out of a class, the class is not eligible for a makeup class.

  • The dancer may be asked to takes notes from the class if asked to sit out of class.

  • Chewing gum, smoking, weapons of any kind, or illegal drugs are NOT permitted anywhere inside the school building.

  • If you need a parent/teacher conference, please call for an appointment or set it up with the Front Desk. There is not the adequate time between classes to provide the undivided attention you deserve.

Production Recital

  • All students are encouraged to participate in the production recital held at the end of the year.

  • The recital is very important in developing a dancer's stage presence and performance skills.

  • It is also a LOT of fun and offers a reward for all the hard work and preparation of the dancer.

  • If you wish to participate, it is vital that you have good attendance, especially in March, April, and May.

  • If you have a substantial number of absences between March & May, you should not expect to perform the parts of the routine that were taught during your absences, as you will be unprepared for the performance.

Tuition

  • All tuition and fees will be strictly adhered to.

  • Please review all Tuition & Fees for your student.

  • Paying in a timely fashion avoids late fees.

  • To ADD and/or DROP a class - an Add / Drop Form must be filled out and turned in to the office by the 20th of the prior month.

  • If you withdrawal and do not notify our office, your account will remain active and therefore, you are still responsible for the student's tuition regardless of absences.

  • This must be handled with the office and not through the teacher.

Medical Release Form

  • If a health condition exists which will prevent full participation, please notify New Dimensions Dance Academy in writing as soon as possible and be sure to include all health conditions in the medical release form.

General

  • For the comfort and safety of all our students and families, we ask that there be no unattended children in the studio at any time.

  • All children who are not in class must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • Please plan some activities for children while in the waiting room.

  • Please do not block walkways in the waiting room area.

  • DO NOT PLAY BALL in the studio.

  • Unattended children will be asked to find their parents and stay with them.

  • In some circumstances, you may need to drop off/pick up your child due to prior obligations.

  • Please arrive on time for pick up of your child BEFORE class ends.

  • We are not responsible for your children before or after dance class.

  • All young dancers should be escorted to and from the building at all times.

  • No child will be allowed to leave the studio with any other parents unless written notice has been presented to the office or Director.

  • We do our very best to send out email blast regarding studio closing for weather and holidays.
